Un nuevo software para optimizar la compra de energía en empresas y el mercado

Ya hemos hablado en otras ocasiones cómo reducir el consumo eléctrico de nuestra vivienda, o cómo optimizarlo en las empresas mediante sistemas de monitorización. Pues hoy el Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía acaba de presentar el proyecto Sistema de Gestión de Compra de Energía, una software que da soporte a los agentes encargados de la compra de energía en el mercado eléctrico, mediante módulos de predicción y de soporte a la toma de decisiones, con el fin de reducir la facturación en la compra de la energía.

Según explican desde el centro tecnológico, ubicado en el Parque Tecnológico de Valencia, en el MIBEL (Mercado Ibérico de la Electricidad) los consumidores españoles y portugueses acceden al mercado a través de compañías comercializadoras. Diariamente, los agentes de mercado de estas compañías estiman la demanda de sus clientes y efectúan ofertas para abastecerla en el mercado diario, pero deben asumir penalizaciones económicas cuando se producen desviaciones entre la energía adquirida en el mercado y la que se consume  finalmente.

Un agente de mercado equipado con este software recibe cada día diferentes sugerencias de gestión energética optimizadas en base a criterios económicos, energéticos e incluso medioambientales. Estas soluciones óptimas de gestión energética incluyen la cantidad de energía a adquirir en el mercado, los contratos a plazo que deben ser ejecutados o que están en ejecución, la energía que va a producirse con los recursos de generación disponibles y las políticas de gestión activa de la demanda que deben ser aplicadas.

Compra de energía al milímetro

El ITE desarrolla un software para optimizar la compra de energía en el mercadoAdemás, la herramienta incluye una predicción diaria del precio de la energía y de la demanda, permitiendo que los agentes puedan ajustar al máximo las ofertas de compra de energía hechas en el mercado y evitar las penalizaciones por desvíos. Para mejorar todavía más las predicciones, el sistema informático permite integrar recursos energéticos distribuidos (tanto de generación como de almacenamiento), la aplicación de políticas de gestión activa de la demanda en el proceso o los contratos negociados en el mercado a plazo.

El software se dirige principalmente a las personas encargadas de realizar la compra de energía en el mercado eléctrico para un conjunto de clientes, conocidos como agentes de mercado. Estos pueden pertenecer a una compañía comercializadora o al departamento de compras de empresas con grandes consumos eléctricos de distintos sectores donde se gestione la compra de la energía de todas sus instalaciones de forma directa. Algunos de ellos son:

  • Automoción
  • Textil
  • Calzado
  • Alimentación
  • Cerámica
  • Caucho
  • Materias plásticas

El proyecto está financiado por la Generalitat Valenciana a través del Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial (IVACE) y el Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) dentro del convenio de colaboración entre el Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial, IVACE, y los Institutos Tecnológicos de la Red IVACE, para el desarrollo de actividades orientadas a la mejora de la Competitividad Empresarial.
